Citrix XenApp : Session Reliability

With using Session Reliability you can keep the sessions active whenever the network connection is interrupted and users can continue to use the application until the network connection is resumed.
It's a great feature specially for the users using wireless connections on their laptops,tablets,etc..
Using this feature will keep the session active on the XenApp server. User will experience a display freeze and the cursor will change to a spinning hourglass till the connection resumes.

By default Session Reliability is enabled at the server farm level. You can configure this feature from Farm's Computer Policies . Also you can change the port for Session Reliability.
If the Session Reliability is enabled, the default port used for session communication will be changed from 1494 to 2598.

2) Session Reliability Port Number :

3) Session Reliability Timeout  (default is 180 Seconds )

The name of the service for Session Reliability is " Citrix XTE " :

*****************************************************************************
If the Citrix XTE service fails to start , follow these steps :

From a browser go to this location : C:\Program Files (x86)\Citrix\XTE\conf

And rename "httpd.conf" to "httpdold.conf" :

Then restart the server , this way we are forcing the file to be recreated (new httpd.conf) and the service will start .
If the Citrix XTE service fails to start again , the new file is corrupted and you need to copy it from a working server into the C:\Program Files (x86)\Citrix\XTE\conf folder and start the service manually.

Port number (default 2598): Assign the port on which you want the servers in the farm to listen for attempts to re-establish dropped connections.
When session reliability is enabled, the ICA Client tunnels its ICA traffic inside the Common Gateway Protocol and sends the traffic to port 2598. The XTE service acts as a relay, removing the Common Gateway Protocol layer and then forwarding traffic to the ICA listener on port 1494:
